Police investigating body found

On Tuesday afternoon, Elgin police began investigating a dead body found, a ruling in the death is still pending.

Police responded to a call for a dead body in a vehicle in the parking lot of 18810 W. State Highway 290.

Officers are working with the medical examiner to determine the identity and the cause of death. While the death is being investigated, Elgin police said this does not appear to be a danger to the public.

The name of the deceased has not been released, and no other details have been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
