Elgin resident Jason Rodman has been hired as the new principal for Elgin High School, following Rick Reyes, who has accepted another position within the district.
Set to join faculty for the 2023-24 school year, Rodman brings 19 years of experience in education to EHS. He is already familiar with the district, having been a teacher and coach for both Elgin middle and high school. Rodman was also campus administrator for Phoenix High School, where he established systems focused on student achievement and staff development, refining the campus instructional model. He has since been an assistant principal at Cedar Creek High School, and an adjunct professor at Austin Community College.
“Dr. Rodman will be a great addition to our team,” said Elgin Independent School District Superintendent Jana Rueter. “He brings experience as a motivational leader who embodies strong character, fosters a positive and safe environment, and prioritizes high expectations for students. We are fortunate to have him joining us to lead Elgin High School.”
Rodman obtained an Education Doctorate in Professional Leadership with a Specialization in Literacy Education from the University of Houston. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education from Concordia University.
“I’m absolutely thrilled at being able to return home. I’m eager to meet the staff and students, as well as their families,” Rodman said.
