Samsung supplier builds in Bastrop

BASTROP – The Samsung Austin Semiconductor facility and its landmark $17 billion construction site in south Taylor continue to have ripple effects on the landscape of business development in the area.

BASTROP – The Samsung Austin Semiconductor facility and its landmark $17 billion construction site in south Taylor continue to have ripple effects on the landscape of business development in the area.

Austin Business Journal confirmed that a known South Korean supplier for Samsung, LS Electric, has purchased a roughly 40,000 square foot facility in Bastrop’s Business and Industrial Park.

An electrical power equipment manufacturer and supplier, LS Electric already has several outposts stateside. These facilities contribute to an abundant future by delivering safe and clean energy, according to their website, with smart power solutions and automation.

This is one example of several distributors accompanying Samsung in its central Texas takeover, an endeavor that will shape the continued development of Bastrop and Williamson County. If Samsung’s existing chipmaking facility in Austin is any indication, thousands of new jobs will open up and economic output in central Texas will take off significantly.

Formerly the regional headquarters of Johnson Architectural Metal Company, who have since returned to their home base in Georgia, the building is undergoing its transformation at 409 Technology Drive.
