BASTROP – Kids returned to athletic camps this past week as Bastrop hosted its annual Lady Bear Youth Volleyball Camp from July 10-13 at Bastrop Middle School.
Bastrop High School varsity volleyball head coach Morgan Rollins and her coaching staff had the camps divided into three separate sections: third through sixth graders, seventh and eighth graders as well as the ninth-grade group.
Rollins said she was delighted with the 2023 camp and was proud to announce that the three groups combined to have over 100 campers that came out for the four-day camp. Campers did plenty of drills to help improve their volleyball skill sets each day with serving, passing, setting, digging and more to take their game to the next level.
Bastrop will have a football camp from 6:15-8:15 p.m. on July 24-27 at Erhard Field for incoming fifth through ninth graders and cost $30 per camper. For additional information, be sure to contact Bears varsity football head coach Jake Griedl at jgriedl@bisdtx. org.
The Bears and Lady Bears will also get to take part in a youth tennis camp for third through eighth graders from 8-10 a.m. on July 24-27 at the high school tennis courts which costs $40 per camper.
