BASTROP – Bastrop City Summerfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bastrop First Assembly of God Church, 609 Pecan Street in Bastrop. During the final Summerfest for the entire community of Bastrop County, volunteers will be giving out backpacks to all the children. There will also be a water slide bouncy house and a regular bouncy house. The event is free and open to the community. For more information, email [email protected].

SMITHVILLE – Block Printing Demo with the Markers 2023 will e held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Lumberyard Studio, 223 NE 1st Street in Smithville. For $25 you can select from one of our pre-made designs or carve and print your own on a selection of materials including high quality paper, greeting cards, and fabric. MCDADE – The Hawk Walk at Rising Sun will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Rising Sun Vineyard, 233 Edmonson Ranch Rd. in McDade. The interactive walk brings nature up close and personal to guests. Meet with a falconer in a class of no more than 15 individuals and learn about human’s ancient relationship with raptors through falconry. Participants must be at least 10 years old.
