Base timeline set on district’s fifth elementary school

Construction continues throughout Elgin ISD

Construction continues throughout Elgin ISD

Elgin Independent School District has developed a schedule for one of the new elementary schools to be constructed through the voter-approved bond referendum of 2021.

The new school, aptly referred to as Elgin ISD Elementary Number 5, is set to begin development in early spring of next year. It will be located on 15 acres in the Trinity Ranch subdivision, near the city’s downtown complex. The school is expected to be completed in summer 2025.

“We are excited to move forward with building new, innovative facilities for our future learners in Elgin ISD and appreciate the support of our community,” said Superintendent of Schools Jana Rueter.

Harvest Ridge Elementary, the other new school named in the vote, looks to open in fall 2024.

This construction comes in tandem with Elgin High School development. EHS upgrades will include a new auditorium, multi-purpose facility, two-story classroom addition, cafeteria expansion, career and technical education wing expansions and additional parking.

These upgrades are a few of the many projects approved by voters in the 2021 district bond improvement plan.
