The Elgin Chamber of Commerce family continues to grow, adding a new septic and dirt specialist that has already put in significant work around the city.
Kirby Roberson, owner of Standalone Septic & Dirt Work, was joined by proud relatives, excited business neighbors and lifelong friends Aug. 17 for his ceremonial ribbon cutting, officially welcoming him into the community collective.
Chamber Media and Membership Specialist Bri Aguirre familiarized everyone with each other, attendees shared personal stories and work experiences.
“We call Kirby all the time,” said Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative representative Tim Schultz, who used to play baseball with Roberson. “On a residential side, he’ll put in any kind of septic you need there, but he’s also done several commercial systems for us.”
While he already had plenty of experience with dirt, Roberson admitted that it took a push from a friend to really get his business under way.
Roberson’s old work partner would always complain about getting big septic tanks put in, he explained, and told him to go get a septic license and start his own company.
“I thought I lost a friend, I actually gained a better buddy and a business partner,” said Roberson.
Roberson thanked the commerce and everyone in attendance, excited at the opportunity to get going, attendees said.
