The Courier levels up

Granite Media Partners’ leadership and the Elgin Courier team have decided to relocate the local newspaper’s headquarters to a new office space, one better tailored to the staff’s requirements.

Granite Media Partners’ leadership and the Elgin Courier team have decided to relocate the local newspaper’s headquarters to a new office space, one better tailored to the staff’s requirements.

The move is not a distant one, traveling just across Main Street and settling in at 111 W. Second Street.

“This building will position us to continue to serve the Elgin/ Bastrop area, and be more efficient in doing so,” said Granite Media President and CEO Daniel Philhower.

There are still administrative tasks at hand that need to be settled before the move can officially begin, but Courier staff hope to start their transition in September, and plan to be fully established by the end of October.

The new space remains visible at the heart of the city, ready to attend to the needs of the community it serves. The Elgin Courier team is small in number but highly efficient, and this new location is a better fit, according to staff.

The building sports large windows and an open floor plan, brightening up the workspace for employees.

Elgin Courier’s leadership plans to celebrate the move with a grand opening “red carpet” affair, once complete. Keep up to date with the move online, at https://www. elgincourier.com.
