BASTROP – The second annual American Cancer Society and Relay For Life of Elgin golf scramble was held on Saturday, Sept. 16 at ColoVista Golf Club in Bastrop.

A great turnout of 12 teams with a total of 48 golfers enjoyed a fun day out on the links. The Relay team thanks the many hole sponsors, raffle sponsors, donors, businesses and the golfers who participated to benefit a great cause.

Special thanks go to the ColoVista staff for hosting and to Kelly and Newy Koenning for expert guidance in making this event a success. All proceeds go toward the fight against cancer.

The winning team was Covert Hutto with a score of 52. Team members included Nate Morgan, Paul Dickensheets, Carlos Tercero and Travis Etie.

TriCounty Feed finished second with a score of 54. Team members were Robert Justice, Caleb Sellstrom, Tyler Graham and Keith Repa.

Third place went to the Mom Myers team with a score of 56. The players were Myers, Trowbridge, Belmore, and Heather.

Golfers enthusiastically competed in extra games which tested their skills and raised additional funds. Awards for closest to the pin were won by Chris Belmore and Patrick Demps. Carlos Tercero won the men’s longest drive and Kelly Koenning won the women’s longest drive.
