MCDADE — The Mc-Dade High School varsity football team secured a much-needed 57-12 victory for Homecoming on Sept. 30 as the Bulldogs routed visiting Bell County Home School for its second win of the 2023 season under first-year head coach Nick Parker.
Six-man mania was in full swing on Saturday night as the Bulldogs got off to a big lead in the first half and were able to slam the door shut in the third quarter for a 45-point victory via the mercy rule over the Angels.
Led by junior running back Trent Rizor, sophomore running back Jacob Pacheco and sophomore quarterback Jay Brandon, the Bulldogs were able to do as they pleased offensively and also got some key takeaways from the McDade defense that helped keep Bell County at bay for a vast majority of this game.
Now with victories this season over Summit Christian Academy and Bell County Home School, the Bulldogs (2-4 overall record) will march into 1A-1 District 16 play at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 as Mc-Dade will travel to take on Nueces Canyon High School. The Bulldogs will also have upcoming district games on Oct. 13 at Prairie Lea High School, hosting Leakey High School on Oct. 20 for Pink Out and at home on Oct. 27 vs. Medina High School for Senior Night.
