Arrests made in gambling investigation

BASTROP – A nearly six-mont h-long investigation has led to the arrests of Ameena Bhaidani and Joshua Lovett, charged with possession of gambling devices and engaging in organized criminal activity.

The Bastrop County Sheriff ’s Office announced Oct. 11 that their narcotics unit, with the help of the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission, conducted a search and arrest warrant on two neighboring locations on State Highway 95.

Investigators searched Delco Mart and Zoo Market, seizing gambling devices, illegal narcotics and proceeds from the operation.

“This is a reminder to those who seek to ignore the law in Bastrop County, they need to be reminded that we will be coming,” said Sheriff Maurice Cook.

The sheriff’s office expects to make more arrests after completion of the investigation.
