White-tailed deer general hunting season began this past week, extending through Jan. 7.
While archers have been able to hunt throughout October, gun users now have the opportunity to get out into the woods.
The bag limit is four deer, no more than two bucks and no more than two antlerless for all seasons combined. Only one buck may have an inside spread of 13 inches or greater.
As with all seasons, Managed Lands Deer Program tags must be applied to kills. The Courier encourages any young hunters or proud woodsmen to celebrate their trophies by sending in a picture for a spotlight.
