Lady Eagles thrash Eastside and Travis

BASTROP — The Cedar Creek High School girls varsity basketball team picked up a pair of dominant victories at home over Austin Eastside Early College High School and Austin Travis Early College High School.

The Lady Eagles crushed Eastside 74-24 and were led again by sophomore standout Keyaira Limuel Washington, who outscored the Lady Panthers by herself with a game-high 36 points, nine rebounds and nine steals as she continues to establish herself as one of the best players in the whole area.

This was another superb game for Washington after she had previously gone off in the season opener Nov.

3 against Del Valle High School. She had a sensational game and outscored Del Valle on her own with a game-high 39 points, 20 rebounds, seven steals and five blocked shots to propel Cedar Creek to a 56-37 victory at home Against Travis, the Lady Eagles got another dominant effort from Washington in a 70-20 victory over the Lady Rebels, the second consecutive 50point triumph for Cedar Creek. Lady Eagles sophomore Jaslene Flores scored in double figures during a solid all-around game with 12 points, five steals, five assists and two rebounds.

Under head coach Erica Cray, the Lady Eagles will finish up their tournament games Nov. 16-18 at the Cornerstone Christian Tournament in San Antonio and travel Nov. 21 to take on Liberty Hill High School before time off for Thanksgiving break.
