On the final day of the tournament, the Bears ended on a high note with victories over Austin Northeast Early College High School and Luling High School. Bastrop cruised to a 74-61 victory against the Northeast Raiders and then was able to edge the Luling Eagles 66-63.

Bears freshman Preston Alexander led the way for Bastrop with 14 points on four three-pointers made against Northeast, while fellow freshman Diego Rangel was also efficient from behind the arc with 11 points on three made treys, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Bastrop had to dig in to knock off Luling but got the job done to end its weekend in Lockhart with another key victory behind 18 points and four assists from senior Nathaniel Mosley. Bears junior Jaelyn Gratten also had a double-double effort for Bastrop as he had 16 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two assists while the freshman duo of Alexander and Rangel had 11 points apiece against the Eagles.

After Bastrop returns home Tuesday night to host Kyle Lehman High School, the Bears will compete Dec. 7-9 at the Taylor Tournament and have their first game Thursday at 9 a.m. against Austin Royals Home School.
