The finishing touches on Morris Memorial Park’s new playset have been delayed, pushing back the scheduled Jan. 3 grand opening and dedication.
Final surfacing for the grounds couldn’t be completed due to illness among the instillation crew.
Safety surfacing takes 72 hours, about three days, to dry between layers to be effective, according to the Parks and Recreation Department.
New dates for the park’s opening and commemoration have not yet been announced, and the department asks the community to stay safe and not utilize its equipment until then.
