ELGIN — The I.G. Janca Show Barn hosted the annual Bastrop County Jr. Livestock Show this past week, with representation of young farmers coming from across the county.

Judges watched as showpieces moved around the grounds and inspected each entry with precision and detail.

The show provides growers of all ages with the opportunity to showcase their animals and educate the community on agriculture, according to the Elgin Livestock Show Association.

The platform promotes proper care of livestock and helps youth workers develop the skills they will need to follow a career in agriculture.
