SUPER BOWL TAILGATE PARTY
ELGIN — Join the largest tailgate party of the year beginning at 2 p.m. at the Elgin VFW Post 6115, 118 Old Sayers Rd. There will be an outside projector and lots of inside TVs to watch the big game. This will be a family friendly event, so bring the kids and enjoy watching the big game locally. The event will also include games, food trailers, pint and beer bucket specials.

SMITHVILLE — Celebrate Mardi Gras at Smithville Brewing Company, 661 NW Loop 230 in Smithville with po’boys, beignets, NOLA slushies and fun for the whole family. Festive food, games and beads will be available starting at 4 p.m. with live music by Shop Dawgs from 6 to 9 p.m.
DEPOT MUSEUM CELEBRATES BLACK HISORY
ELGIN — Deport Museum welcomes all to the permanent Elgin Black History exhibit. A photo collection covers athletics, music, teachers, business owners and vintage photos. Groups are welcome.
