A tough start in the first half was too much to overcome Friday, Feb. 2 as Elgin was defeated 68-50 by the visiting Cedar Creek Eagles. The Wildcats trailed 17-8 after the first quarter and faced a 36-23 deficit at halftime. Although Elgin got to within 50-38 in the third quarter, the Eagles pulled away again down the stretch of regulation.
Elgin (15-10 overall, 3-8 district record) under Head Coach David Wilson will look to get back in the win column this week on the road. The Wildcats are scheduled Feb. 6 to play Bastrop High School and will remain on the road Friday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. against Pflugerville High School.
