IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE – LIVE RADIO PLAY BASTROP — One of America’s favorite holiday classics is live on stage at a snowbound 1940s radio station, with every memorable character, wacky sound effect and the heartwarming conclusion of the iconic film It’s a Wonderful Life. EXPRESSIONS OF AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE 2024 BASTROP — Experience the Expressions of African American Culture through music, dance and spoken word from 6 to 9 p.m. at the historic Bastrop Opera House in Bastrop. Event includes live performances and history. The event is organized by the Bastrop County Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission.

ROCKY HILL ROUNDUP 2024 SMITHVILLE — Whether you prefer to mountain bike, E-bike or run a 5K, your challenge is the Rocky Hill Roundup at the famed Rocky Hill Ranch, 578 FM 153 in Smithville. Saturday is the 5K where even children age 10 and younger can compete with their parent. There’s also a free Kid’s Cup Race (biking) and a New Racers’ Clinic. On Sunday, all biking races are run by sex, age, skill and length of race, and prizes will be given to winners. Post race beverages from 602 Brewing.

DEPOT MUSEUM CELEBRATES BLACK HISORY

ELGIN — Deport Museum welcomes all to the permanent Elgin Black History exhibit. A photo collection covers athletics, music, teachers, business owners and vintage photos. Groups are welcome.
