BASTROP — The Cedar Creek High School boys varsity basketball team continued 5A-District 23 play last week as the Eagles took on Georgetown High School and Bastrop High School.
GEORGETOWN EAGLES 61, CEDAR CREEK EAGLES 49
In a battle of the Eagles, it was Georgetown who got the job done on the road with a 61-49 victory at Cedar Creek to stay atop the district standings.
Cedar Creek senior Robert Conrad helped lead the Eagles with 19 points and three steals, while junior Kenji Franklin also had 19 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots in the loss to Georgetown.
CEDAR CREEK EAGLES 82, BASTROP BEARS 38
It was a milestone night for Conrad as he broke 2,000 career points scored during the Eagles’ dominant 82-38 victory against the rival Bastrop Bears.
Conrad, the Eagles’ alltime leading scorer in program history, did it all for Cedar Creek with 19 points, six rebounds, six steals, four assists and one block. Franklin had yet another solid game in a double-double effort with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, while fellow junior Phineas Koplin also scored in double figures with 13 points, a trio of three-pointers made and six rebounds.
Cedar Creek (23-10 overall, 8-5 district record) under Head Coach Valentino Maxwell hosted Pflugerville High School Feb. 13 for senior night. Bastrop under Head Coach Eric Woods concluded its season Tuesday at Georgetown.
