The Elgin High School girls varsity basketball team concluded its season on a high note Tuesday, Feb. 6 as the Lady Wildcats celebrated senior night with a 50-39 district victory at home over Bastrop High School.
Lady Wildcats senior Jaylan Roberson did it all for Elgin against the Lady Bears as she went off for a triple-double effort with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor, 10 rebounds, 10 steals and three blocked shots.
Also in the win over Bastrop, Elgin sophomore Trinity Martinez scored in double figures with 12 points, three assists and three steals while fellow Lady Wildcats sophomore Sharmonique Williams had eight points, 12 rebounds and three steals.
Elgin (12-21 overall, 5-9 district record) under Head Coach Chris Tibbets concluded the 2023-24 season as the No. 5 seed in 5A-District 23 and the Lady Wildcats won three of their last four games.
