Lady Bulldogs batter Buckholts

BUCKHOLTS – The Mc-Dade High School girls varsity basketball team went on the road Tuesday, Feb. 6 and the Lady Bulldogs concluded 1A-District 29 play on a high note with a dominant 63-29 win against Buckholts High School.

BUCKHOLTS — The Mc-Dade High School girls varsity basketball team went on the road Tuesday, Feb. 6 and the Lady Bulldogs concluded 1A-District 29 play on a high note with a dominant 63-29 win against Buckholts High School.

The Lady Bulldogs blanked the host Lady Badgers 19-0 in the first quarter, had a comfortable 32-3 lead at halftime and were able to cruise in the second half to victory in McDade’s final game of the season.

In addition to strong team defense all game, McDade was led on offense with a balanced scoring attack. Lady Bulldogs junior Lauren Glosson had 10 points and four rebounds, while sophomore Alexis Pacheco also scored in double figures with 10 points, a teamhigh five steals and two assists.

The Lady Bulldogs also had notable contributions from senior Steffanie Zavala with nine points and 10 rebounds, junior Jessica Dube also with nine points to go along with 10 rebounds and three assists, sophomore Summer Jacobs with nine points to go along with four assists and fellow sophomore Alexis Carpenter with a team-high 15 rebounds.

McDade finished the 2023-24 campaign with an 8-13 overall record and should have many players from this season’s team back next year.
