SMITHVILLE — Whether you prefer to mountain bike, E-bike or run a 5K, your challenge is the Rocky Hill Roundup at the famed Rocky Hill Ranch, 578 FM 153 in Smithville. Saturday is the 5K where even children age 10 and younger can compete with their parent. There’s also a free Kid’s Cup Race (biking) and a New Racers’ Clinic. On Sunday, all biking races are run by sex, age, skill and length of race, and prizes will be given to winners. Post race beverages from 602 Brewing.

CELEBRATION HEADLONG FARM GRAND OPENING

ELGIN — Headlong farm is celebrating the completion of its new on-farm retail store Saturday, 10 a.m. The event is free to attend and will feature blacksmithing classes by Earthen Metals, coffee and cocoa from downtown’s Chemn Café, farm animal photo shoots with Wild Things Photography and an official ribbon cutting hosted by the Elgin Chamber of Commerce. DEPOT MUSEUM CELEBRATES BLACK HISORY
