Candidates vie for Elgin ISD

Two seats on the Elgin Independent School District Board of Trustees expire in May, and four people will compete in the May 4 election.

District 3, currently held by Beth Walterscheidt, is up for election. Walterscheidt filed for re-election and will be challenged by Julissa Kyle.

The other seat up for election is District 6, currently held by Valarie Neidig. Neidig is not running for re-election, and a new face will take the seat. The candidates for District 6 are Pete Bega and Tracy Norris-Samuels.

The last day to register to vote is April 4. Early voting will be from April 22 to April 30. Election Day is Saturday, May 4.
