BURNET — The Bastrop High School girls varsity golf team was crowned 5A-District 23 champions last week as the Lady Bears competed March 25-26 at Delaware Springs Golf Course in Burnet.

Lady Bears standout Carly Sherman was the top individual girls golfer as she was named district champion.

Sherman, Adriana Gerhart and Cali Lozano were named first-team all-district while Sammie McFarland and Gabi Lopez were selected as second-team all-district honors. Emmerson Spurlock and Constance Harper both set personal bests at the district tournament.

Bastrop girls golf, under Head Coach Romonda Watley, will be back in action April 17-18 at the 5A Region 3 tournament hosted by The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Montgomery.
