Elgin Independent School District leaders are making some internal changes ahead of the 2024-25 school year to better prepare for future development.
Molley Perry, the district’s assistant superintendent of teaching and learning was promoted to deputy superintendent earlier this month.
Perry will be replacing longtime position holder Peter Perez, who is retiring, according to reports. Perry will begin her new duties July 1.
The new hire came to Elgin ISD just months ago, having worked at College Station ISD since 2005. There, she served as deputy superintendent and chief administrative officer, providing leadership for district administration, including school safety, human resources, technology, assessment and ac c ountabil ity, student services, special services and community education.
As College Station ISD deputy superintendent, Perry led the development of a principal pipeline in collaboration with the Holdsworth Educational Leadership Center in Austin. She also coordinated the formation of the district’s Community-Based Accountability System strategic plan in conjunction with key stakeholders.
Perry previously held titles as executive director of special services and accountability and educational diagnostician for College Station ISD, and was director of special services for both Bryan ISD and College Station ISD.
Perry began her career as a special education teacher for Bryan ISD in 2002, and holds a Doctor of Education degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University.
Perry’s vast experience and knowledge will help meet the future needs of Elgin ISD, according to district representatives.
