CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties is celebrating the appointment of four new Court Appointed Special Advocates and preparing for its biggest annual fundraiser. who were recently sworn in by Judge Benton Eskew. The new volunteers, Crystal Gaddis from Fayette County, Mark Fears and Sharon Rinn from Lee County and Lonnie Rhodes from Bastrop County, will work to represent children in the foster care system. Recently sworn in by Judge Benton Eskew, each is a firsttime CASA volunteer, joining an organization that strives to provide trained advocates for children in abuse and neglect cases assigned by the courts.
In addition to welcoming new volunteers, the group is getting ready for Saturday Night Lights & Casino Nights 2024, at The Hyatt Lost Pines Resort. The event, scheduled for Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m., will feature casino tables, games, a full cash bar, bingo, a silent auction and the return of the popular Wild Card Game.
The fundraiser brings together community members, local businesses and supporters for a night of entertainment and philanthropy, with all proceeds benefiting CASA’s mission to advocate for children in foster care.

As part of the transition, TDS has supplied residents with service schedules, recycling guidelines and information about technology options, including the “Waste Wizard App,” which helps customers manage their waste collection and learn about diversion options.
