BASTROP – Bastrop Independent School District continues to enhance its leadership team with the appointment of a new chief academic officer.
Jennifer Eberly has been appointed to fill the critical position, effective immediately, bringing with her 22 years of experience and a commitment to student success. Eberly previously served as the district’s director of teaching and learning since joining Bastrop ISD in 2022.
“Jennifer brings a wealth of experience in public education at both the campus and district levels,” said Superintendent Barry Edwards. “Her expertise will be instrumental in driving our programs forward, and her dedication to serving the district and the students of Bastrop ISD will ensure we continue providing exceptional educational opportunities for all.”
Before joining Bastrop ISD, Eberly was the principal of Hillcrest Elementary in Del Valle ISD. Her diverse background also includes roles as an instructional administrator and teaching positions spanning kindergarten through sixth grade.
“I am honored to continue serving the students, staff and families of BISD in this new role,” said Eberly. “Over the past year, we have launched numerous academic initiatives, and I am excited to lead our efforts in providing high-quality instruction as we move into the next phase of our work.”
Eberly holds a Master of Education in educational administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Arts from Texas State University. Her State Board for Educator Certifications include principal, special education, elementary self-contained and English as a second language.
Eberly and her husband, Derek, have three children. In their spare time, they enjoy family activities and outdoor adventures.
