BASTROP – The Bastrop Police Department reported an auto-pedestrian fatality Sept. 21, just two weeks after a similar incident in Cedar Creek.
According to reports, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Texas 71 about 11:30 a.m. in reference to an auto-pedestrian crash. The Bastrop Fire Department was also on scene to provide assistance.
A preliminary investigation indicated an adult female was attempting to cross the eastbound main lanes of traffic when she was struck by a vehicle, police said.
CPR was performed but the individual succumbed to her injuries, according to the department. The driver of the vehicle sustained no injuries.
The deceased’s identity has yet to be released, as it is an ongoing investigation.
