Bastrop County’s organization committed to fostering a supportive community for LGBTQIA+ residents, their families, friends and allies will be returning to Elgin for the city’s biggest event of the year.
Bastrop Pride is bringing its annual Halloween Show to the Hogeye Festival Oct. 25 with a “pigs in space” costume contest.
Hosted at downtown Elgin’s Lightnin’ Bar, starting at 8 p.m., winners will be selected for the best “sci-fi” and “pig” costumes.
This year, all contest entries will be completely donation-based, with a suggested donation of $20.
“Any amount will help. If you can help a little or a lot, all funds gathered are going directly to the performers, the drag kings and queens that you love,” Bastrop Pride said.
In addition to the Halloween Show, Bastrop Pride fosters community connections through various weekly and monthly activities, including game nights, outdoor events, dinners and gatherings. The organization also aims to expand its youth programs focused on support and adventure.
