MEEC MEETING
MCDADE — The Mc-Dade Extension Education Club will meet Wednesday, Dec. 11, at noon at the Faith Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 230 Waco St., for the club's Christmas Party. Members are asked to bring a dessert for lunch, goodies for the Members’ Goodie Bags and a $15 gift for the Gift Exchange to participate. The organization’s “Christmas giving wish” is to share and bring canned goods or other nonperishable food items to support the McDade Food Pantry. JUNETEENTH JUBILEE AWARDS ELGIN — Celebrate the 25th Silver Jubilee Anniversary of the Elgin Juneteenth Organization Saturday, Dec. 14, from 7 p.m. to midnight at SPJST Lodge No. 18, 702 Highway 95 N. The event will feature dinner, live entertainment by Tish & The Mizzbehavin Band, an awards program and the presentation of the Elgin Juneteenth Lifetime Achievement Award and the Phillip “Binky” Thomas Leadership Award. SANTA COMES TO COUPLAND
COUPLAND — Join the Coupland Civic Organization, St. Peter’s Church of Coupland and the Coupland Volunteer Fire Department for a Christmas celebration Sunday, Dec. 15, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the historic Coupland Depot. Santa, Jonathan Jones, will arrive by fire truck. St. Peter’s Church horseback carolers will also serenade the crowd with holiday songs Dec. 22, beginning at 3 p.m. Families can enjoy free photos with Santa, along with cookies, candy canes and hot chocolate.
