EXPRESS PHOTO-OP ELGIN — Perfect for a holiday snapshot, the Elgin Express Photo-op is open all month long in front of downtown’s Depot Museum. Smile through the window of a steam engine, gifted to the town by future Eagle Scout Wyatt Brokmeyer and his parents.

GINGERBREAD PARTY ELGIN — An opportunity for cookie enthusiasts to come together, the Elgin Public Library’s Children Program will be hosting a gingerbread house decorating party Dec. 19, at 5 p.m. No sign-up needed. First come, first served.

ROCKIN’ HOLIDAY REVUE BASTROP — “Bastrop’s Rockin’ Holiday Revue” closes out its stay at the Bastrop Opera House this weekend. A twinkling main stage, live band and talented performers will be delivering a selection of lighthearted sketches and holiday classics with a jukebox twist. Co-directed by Lisa Holcomb and Aline Forastieri, the show encourages attendees to don holiday attire. More information and tickets available at bastropoperahouse. org.

MUSIC IN THE MUSEUM BASTROP — Local musician Sean Orr will continue the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center’s performance series Dec. 21, from noon to 5 p.m. Alongside the museum’s new Holiday Traditions Exhibit, the event will feature a unique fusion of holiday cheer, soulful Celtic tunes and Texas flair. The show is free and family friendly.
