The Elgin Historical Association invites the public to learn more about the city’s new alcohol-friendly Depot District at its annual meeting April 10 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 401 E. Eighth St. The event, which coincides with Sip, Shop & Stroll, will feature a presentation by Mayor Teresa McShan at 7 p.m. and include elections for EHA board members. The EHA board consists of nine seats, each with two-year staggered terms. Nominations must be submitted in advance to [email protected], and only current members may vote. Organizers are also seeking volunteers to help with two-hour Saturday shifts and special events at the Elgin Depot Museum. For more information, call 512-285-2000. Photo by Niko Demetriou
