THE MUSIC MAN

BASTROP - There’s trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. The Music Man follows fasttalking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

LA GRANGE - Celebrate the history of the Bluff Schuetzenverein, a German marksmanship and social organization which once made its home on the Bluff in La Grange. The free Family Fest begins at 11:00 and features community booths, guided tours, living history programs, classes & demonstrations, a laser shooting gallery, festival games, and more. Within the Festival grounds is the Texas History on Tap Beer Garden, open 1 to 7 p.m. Ticketed guests can taste Texas brewing heritage and meet the teams behind their favorite breweries.
