The importance of a mom

Hello everyone, welcome back to the Huddle where today we will be discussing why moms are so important.

Hello everyone, welcome back to the Huddle where today we will be discussing why moms are so important.

To start off I will start off by saying that every single one of us have underappreciated our mother at some point in our lives and since it is Mother’s Day I wanted to kind of give all the moms a shoutout for all that they do.

Let’s think about it this way, a mother’s love is something that is irreplaceable because it is unconditional. No matter what happens in your life you can always count on your mom to be by your side to make sure you have everything you need.

Think about all the times you called your mom or went up to your mom late at night needing her help and she drops everything to get you what you need. Moms sacrifice more than we know as their children but they will continue to do it just for us.

Reading that statement, it makes me want to take a step back and think what did I do to get so lucky to have another person care about me in that way. It is because of what I said earlier, a mother’s love runs deep and no matter how hard you try it will never stop.

Even in the animal kingdom if you’re walking on a nature trail and come across a baby animal what is the first thing someone tells you?

“Yea, it’s cute but be careful because the momma might be close.”

I guarantee animal moms will not hesitate to rip your head off if you mess with it’s baby and human moms are no different. But even though they can get aggressive to protect their kid they will also enjoy the other side of the coin and be one of the proudest people in the galaxy when their kid accomplishes something.

Being the sports guy, I was able to see some of these moments first hand. Senior nights, milestones, being announced prom king and just playing a great game. It was my favorite part of every game if the team won or loss moms (and dads I did not forget about you guys but it’s not your day just yet haha) were the first one to greet their kids with a big hug and a pat on the back.

I am going to single out the Lady Ducks basketball team for a second because after their playoff loss to end their season the gym emptied except for one group of people. The parents of the team stuck around and as soon as the team walked back into the gym they were greeted with a loud ovation to show that they were winners in their eyes.

A truly beautiful moment that choked up this sports reporter and was a perfect personification of why moms (and dads) are so important so make sure you give a big hug and possibly flowers to your mom this Mother’s Day because she has more than earned it.
