MEMORIAL DAY EXHIBIT OPENS
ELGIN – Many Elgin veterans are pictured in the Memorial Day exhibit, which is open at the Elgin Depot Museum. Hours are Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
AL-ANON MEETING
ELGIN – The Al-Anon meeting is held every Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 216 W Third St. in Elgin. If you have struggled with a friend or relative who misuses alcohol or any other addiction, Alcoholics Anonymous Family Groups (Al-Anon) is intended for you. CHAMBER MIXER
SMITHVILLE – The Smithville Chamber of Commerce May Mixer will be held May 25 at Kids Outdoor Zone National Headquarters, 404 Main Street in Smithville.
Doors open at 5p.m. and door prizes will be given out at 6 p.m. Contact the chamber to donate a prize.

DIRT TRACK RACING
PAIGE – Opening ceremony for dirt track racing at the Cottonboll Speedway in Paige is at 7 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. Come early and meet the drivers.

BASTROP – The Bastrop Convention and Exhibit Center presents The Farm Street Opry. It is a family friendly musical performance featuring local Texas talent and special guest performers. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $7.50. Children 10 and under free. Concessions are available. This is a non- alcoholic event.
