Chris was part of the graduating class of 2006 from Elgin High School, where he was known as “the life of the party,” and his involvement with multiple sports. He went on to receive his associate’s in computer engineering at ITT.
Chris loved sports, especially watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns, who he was a die-hard fan of. He also loved spending time with his cousins and little ones who looked up to him dearly.
Chris had a loving heart and contagious personality that made him the special man he was to many.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raul Trevino and Nellie Martinez; his paternal grandparents, Jose and Julieta Fuentes; parental figures, Joe and Sofia Fuentes, and Aunt Vicky Coronado.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine Jimenez Fuentes; family, Alfredo and Melissa Fuentes, Andrew Guadalupe Fuentes, Andrea Christina Fuentes; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was also an uncle-like figure to various generations of cousins and surrounded by loving friends and extended family.
A visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Providence – Jones Family Funeral Home.
A mass of Catholic burial was held Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
In honor of Chris, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
