She served in the Army doing a tour in Vietnam. After her service in the Army, she worked in the custodial department at Elgin Independent School District.

She was a member of the Mormon Church of Manor.

Emily was cremated, and her ashes will be buried Monday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Service Cemetery, 11463 Texas Highway 195 in Killeen.
