He graduated from Elgin High School in 1999, and from Texas State University with a BBA in business administration management in 2005.
Matthew will be remembered as a kind and generous person who was successful in providing support and encouragement to others. He was family-oriented and cared very much for his family. He supported his friends and family during difficult times.
Matthew worked as an architectural consultant on major commercial construction projects, including universities, hospitals, schools, prisons and government buildings. He detailed jobs and provided commercial building materials throughout the country.
He lived a quiet life and had a passion for sports, reading, intellectual conversation, hunting and fishing. In his younger years, he played soccer and baseball. He enjoyed playing these sports with his brothers and being coached by his father.
He enjoyed water sports such as kayaking and wakeboarding. Kayak fishing with his father was always a cherished activity. He was a regular at the gym, lifting weights and taking on new challenges. His competitiveness inspired others.
Matthew’s love will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew him and enjoyed his company.
Matthew is survived by his parents; his brothers, Daniel and his wife Heather of San Marcos, James, and his daughter Cara of Hutto, Caleb and Shelby of Austin, Gabriel, of Elgin and John Michael, of San Marcos.
A visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at Providence- Jones Family Funeral.
Following the visitation a celebration of Mass Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. at, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin Forrest Grove Christian Church Cemetery, near Rockdale
