Lois Ann Parsons, 77, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on the morning of July 28, 2024, at her home in Round Rock. Born Sept. 15, 1946, Lois was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.

Lois graduated from Elgin High School in 1965 and dedicated over 30 years of her life to the Texas Workforce Commission. It was during her tenure there that she met her beloved husband, Gilbert Ray Parsons. They married Sept. 7, 1996, at First Baptist Church in Sunrise Beach, a date chosen to honor the birthday of Lois’ late mother, Alice.

Family was the cornerstone of Lois’ life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren, Mallorie, Trevor and Tanner Magnuson, were the light of her life, and she embraced her role as their Mimi with boundless love and pride. Lois was their biggest supporter and cheerleader, always present at their various activities and celebrations.

In addition to her husband Gilbert, Lois is survived by her daughter, Christa Magnuson, and her husband, Kevin, along with her cherished grandchildren Mallorie, Trevor and Tanner, all of Elgin. She also leaves behind her loving sisters, Virginia Strain of Austin, and Ann Bouchard and her husband Ray of Spring. Through her marriage to Gil, she gained a sister-in-law, Debbie Koehn of Seguin, and a brother-in-law, Loren Parsons and his wife Betty of Bryan-College Station. Lois will be remembered fondly by numerous other family members and friends who were fortunate to know her.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alice Kochlin; her niece, Lea Ann Strain; and her mother-in-law, Oneita Fraser.

Lois’s life was a testament to her love and dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
