BASTROP – Nestled in the Bastrop Public Library, local experts and enthusiasts of Bastrop County history gathered this past Saturday to share information and stories from the towns that they call home.

BASTROP – Bastrop 552, the nearly 550-acre film studio announced in 2021, has gone through some changes in its development, but is still on track to open late 2024 or early 2025.

ROUND ROCK – Two Bastrop County cross country runners had the high honor Nov. 3 of competing in their respective classes at the 2023 UIL Cross Country State Championships held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

LEANDER – The Elgin High School varsity football team concluded its 2023 regular season Thursday, Nov. 2 as the Wildcats traveled to A.C. Bible Memorial Stadium to take on Leander Rouse High School. The host Raiders got the best of the Wildcats as Elgin fell 42-21 at the hands of Rouse, eliminating the Wildcats from a playoff spot out of 5A-2 District 11.

SMITHVILLE – The Smithville High School varsity football team ended the 2023 regular season Nov. 3 as the Tigers handled business with a 26-7 victory at home over the Hornets of Caldwell High School.

BASTROP – The Bastrop High School girls varsity basketball team got off to an impressive start for the 2023-24 regular season Nov. 3 as the Lady Bears dominated their game from start to finish with a landslide 70-21 victory at home against the Lady Panthers of Austin Eastside Early College High School.

BASTROP – The Cedar Creek High School girls varsity basketball team was victorious Nov. 3 at home in the 2023-24 regular- season opener as the Lady Eagles rallied for an impressive 56-37 win over the Lady Cardinals of Del Valle High School.
