BASTROP – The Elgin High School girls varsity soccer team picked up its second 5A-District 23 victory of the season last Friday as the Lady Wildcats defeated Cedar Creek High School 3-1 on the road.

The Elgin High School boys varsity basketball team continued 5A-District 23 play this past week with home losses to Georgetown High School and Cedar Creek High School.

Elgin High School varsity football senior kicker Paden Maass announced his commitment Friday, Feb. 2 to continue his career as a student-athlete at Sul Ross State University for the Lobos football program in Alpine.

SMITHVILLE – The Smithville High School girls varsity basketball team celebrated senior night Friday, Feb. 2 with a dominant 63-20 district win at home over Austin Achieve High School.

The Elgin High School boys varsity soccer team continued 5A-District 23 play this past week as the Wildcats had home matches versus Georgetown High School and Cedar Creek High School.

BASTROP – In a dominant performance, the Bastrop High School girls varsity soccer team had it all come together Feb. 2 at home as the Lady Bears put a 7-2 beatdown on Pflugerville Connally High School.

The Cedar Creek High School boys varsity basketball team split its 5A-District 23 games this past week with a loss at home to Pflugerville Connally High School and a road victory against Elgin High School.

The Elgin High School varsity powerlifting team hosted the Wildcat Invitational meet Saturday, Jan. 27 and the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats both had a lot of success.

The Elgin High School girls varsity basketball team won its third 5A-District 23 game of the season Friday, Jan. 26 as the Lady Wildcats cruised to a 48-36 victory at home over Pflugerville Connally High School.
