BASTROP – The Cedar Creek High School boys varsity basketball team picked up its first playoff victory in school history last week as the Eagles had 5A playoff game against Austin McCallum High School and fell to Killeen Shoemaker High School.

ROUND ROCK – The Elgin High School varsity softball team picked up its first three victories of the season Feb. 22-24 as the Lady Wildcats competed at the Round Rock Tournament.

Four Elgin High School boys varsity basketball players were named to the 5A-District 23 all-district team. Wildcats senior standout Nathen Lewis was a first-team selection for Elgin and was also named as an academic all-district award winner.

LOCKHART – The Elgin High School boys and girls track and field teams competed Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Lockhart Lions Relays meet as the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats had some standout performers in their respective events.

PFLUGERVILLE – The Elgin High School girls varsity soccer team continued its push to the 2024 playoffs this past week with a dominant 4-0 win on the road in its 5A-District 23 match at Pflugerville Connally High School.

BASTROP – The Bastrop High School varsity baseball team began its 2024 season this past week as the Bears picked up wins over Austin Navarro High School and San Antonio Stevens High School.

DEL VALLE – The Elgin High School girls varsity powerlifting team had its final meet before regionals Saturday, Feb. 17, as the Lady Wildcats lifted at the Lady Cardinal Invitational hosted by Del Valle High School.

The Elgin High School varsity baseball team is set to begin the 2024 regular season this week, as the Wildcats return a large core of players from last year’s area finalist team.

GEORGETOWN – The Elgin High School boys varsity soccer team picked up its most pivotal victory of the season Friday, Feb. 16 as the Wildcats went on the road and stunned 5A-District 23 foe Georgetown East View High School 2-1.

The Elgin High School varsity softball season is underway as the Lady Wildcats have their sights set on an eventful 2024 campaign with many players back this year.

SMITHVILLE – Smithville High School football team leaders are trying shake a few things up for next year’s campaign.

The Elgin High School boys varsity basketball team finished its 2023-24 season Tuesday, Feb. 13 with a 67-46 loss at home in the 5A-District 23 finale to Pflugerville Hendrickson High School.
