CEDAR CREEK – The Cedar Creek High School varsity baseball team picked up a pair of 5A-District 23 victories this past week over Pflugerville Connally High School.

The Elgin High School varsity baseball team lost a pair of close 5A-District 23 games this past week as the Wildcats competed against district frontrunner Georgetown High School.

AUSTIN – Area schools competed over the weekend at the Texas Relays meet held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. Elgin High School, Bastrop High School, Cedar Creek High School and Smithville High School all had athletes in action competing in their respective events.

The Elgin High School varsity baseball team cruised to a pair of lopsided 5A-District 23 victories this past week against Pflugerville Connally High School.

ABILENE – Elgin High School boys varsity powerlifting team members competed Saturday, March 23 at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association Boys Division 1 State Championship meet held at Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.

HUTTO – The Hutto High School boys and girls varsity track and field teams competed Friday, March 22 at the Hippo Relays meet hosted by Hutto High School.

The Elgin High School varsity softball team continued its surge in 5A-District 23 play this past week as the Lady Wildcats dominated Bastrop High School and Pflugerville High School.

CEDAR CREEK – The Elgin High School varsity softball team used an offensive surge and standout pitching Tuesday, March 12 as the Lady Wildcats went on the road and picked up a lopsided 18-1 district win over Cedar Creek High School.

The Elgin High School varsity baseball team split last week’s 5A-District 23 games in a two-game series with Georgetown East View High School.

GIDDINGS – The Smithville High School varsity softball team opened 4A-District 22 play on a high note Tuesday, March 12 as the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Buffaloes of Giddings High School 10-5 on the road.

BASTROP – The Bastrop High School varsity baseball team started 5A-District 23 play with a bang this past week as the Bears defeated the Panthers of Pflugerville High School twice.
