BASTROP – Cedar Creek High School varsity volleyball is continuing to put the pieces together at the right time as the Lady Eagles won two 5A-District 23 matches this past week.

PFLUGERVILLE – The Bastrop High School varsity volleyball team suffered a pair of tough losses this past week as the Lady Bears fell to Georgetown East View High School and Pflugerville Connally High School.

GIDDINGS – Staring at a 20-0 deficit on the road heading into halftime, there was zero quit in this Smithville High School varsity football team under head coach Cyril Adkins on Friday. The Tigers mounted a thrilling comeback in the second half to knock off the Buffaloes of Giddings High School 35-34 for a pivotal 4A-2 District 12 victory that halted a five-game losing streak.

GIDDINGS – The Smithville High School varsity cross country program took to the course at Camp Tejas in Giddings last Thursday as the Lady Tigers and Tigers both competed in the 4A-District 22 championship meet.

FAYETTEVILLE – The McDade High School varsity cross country team traveled last Thursday to take on the 1A-District 29 meet hosted by Fayetteville High School and had three individual runners under head coach Nick Parker qualify for the upcoming regional championships.

PRAIRIE LEA – The McDade High School varsity football team was in action last Friday as the Bulldogs traveled to take on the Indians of Prairie Lea High School.

MCDADE – The McDade High School varsity volleyball team picked up two valuable 1A-District 28 victories this past week as the Lady Bulldogs officially clinched a playoff berth.

PFLUGERVILLE – The Bastrop High School varsity volleyball team remained in prime playoff position for 5A-District 23 last week as the Lady Bears had road matches on Oct. 3 at Pflugerville High School and Oct. 6 at Pflugerville Hendrickson High School.

The Elgin High School varsity football team had its hands full last Friday evening as the Wildcats were unable to shake off a slow start in the first half with a 42-26 loss at home to Killeen Chaparral High School.

BASTROP – The Bastrop High School varsity football team continued its impressive 2023 season on Oct. 6 as the Bears dominated rival Cedar Creek High School 34-7 at Bastrop ISD Memorial Stadium.

MCDADE – The McDade High School varsity volleyball team had its impressive 13-game win streak come to a halt as the Lady Bulldogs entered last week as the No. 7 ranked squad in the Texas Girls Coaches Association poll for 1A.

SMITHVILLE – The Smithville High School varsity volleyball team had a pair of thrilling five-set matches this past week as the Lady Tigers hosted Caldwell High School on Oct. 3 and stayed home on Oct. 6 for another 4A-District 22 match vs. rival La Grange High School.
